01 — WHAT IT IS

One lamp,
your rules

Every part of DeskLamp is a decision you make with a click — and the 3D preview rebuilds your exact lamp in real time. What you see is literally what you print.

Arm

Modular reach

Chain 2, 4, 6 — up to 12 alternating modules. A compact bedside light or a huge workshop boom, from the same two printed parts.

Mount

Clamps to the desk

A printed clamp with a pressure screw grips tabletops up to 75 mm — three sizes, picked in the configurator. Screw-on and weighted freestanding bases are next in line.

Joints

Poseable, re-poseable

Joints tighten with printed bolts, washers and nuts. Swing it aside, fold it flat over the keyboard, aim light exactly where work happens.

Color

Real filament colors

37 official Bambu Lab PLA colors with spool codes. Color per part group — or go advanced and tint every single bolt.

Hardware

Printed, not purchased

Bolts, nuts, washers — they all come off your print bed, every thread printed in the orientation that gives it maximum strength. The whole shopping list: one E27 corded socket and a bulb.

Light

Standard E27 head

Any E27 bulb works: warm white, smart RGB, vintage filament. The lamp is a frame for whatever light you love.

Print & assemble

Print plate by plate, screw the arm together, drop in the E27 socket, twist a bulb. Lights on.

3D assembly guide →no glueprinted hardware

Besides your prints, the only things you buy are a standard E27 socket with a cord and an E27 bulb — a smart bulb if you want app control. The arm, joints, clamp, shade and all the hardware are printed.

05 — FAQ

Questions

What do I need besides the printed parts?

Exactly one store-bought component: an E27 lamp holder with a power cord and switch (example on Amazon — any similar cord set works) plus an E27 bulb and PLA filament. No metal screws, no glue, no inserts: all bolts, nuts and washers are printed, with every thread designed to print in the orientation that gives it the highest strength. See the interactive 3D assembly guide.

Which printers can print it?

The generated project targets a 256×256 mm bed (Bambu A1, P1, X1 and similar) and Bambu Studio syncs it to your printer profile on open. The A1 mini works too with the 120 or 165 mm module lengths — just lay the arm modules along the diagonal of the build plate in the slicer. The longest 210 mm modules need a full-size bed.

How thick can my desk top be?

Three printed clamp sizes cover tops up to 75 mm: clamp 40 for 0–35 mm, clamp 60 for 36–55 mm, clamp 80 for 56–75 mm. A screw-mounted base and a weighted freestanding base (you fill it with sand) are in development.

What print settings does it use?

The project comes pre-configured: PLA, 0.2 mm layers, 20% gyroid infill, 3 walls — and every part is already laid out in its tested print orientation.

Is this on MakerWorld?

DeskLamp is a TanskyLab project by Tansky. The generator will live alongside our other MakerWorld-connected tools, and supporter codes from MakerWorld will unlock downloads here.
